Sekanskin

Tiago Teixeira is the owner and CEO of Sekanskin. Sekanskin is known for creating car skins and their meticulous vinyl artistry of super luxe vehicles. They are second to none when it comes to this field. But to me, Tiago’s my dear friend, and he’s as down to earth as any entrepreneur you’ll ever meet. I was honoured to sit down and chat with him about his business, his humble beginnings, and what he plans to accomplish in the future. I can’t wait to share his story with you.

Like many of the entrepreneurs I interview, Tiago’s business started from a creative idea and personal need. He wanted to customize his personal car and started looking into options. There weren’t a lot available on the market, especially at the quality he desired. Therefore, his need inspired his business, and little did he know how big it would soon become!

I met Tiago a few years back at a car meet called “Ertefa”. There were about 2000 kids that met outside of Canadian Tire and I was there with a Lamborghini Aventador. Tiago had just started his business and I was equally new with Lamborghini sales. We were both building a name in the exotic car industry. We were young, hungry and driven to succeed.

After seeing what Tiago was doing, I felt that it was cutting edge, and that Sekanskin and Lamborghini would be a good paring. Therefore, I decided to introduce Tiago to my then boss. That is when our business relationship really took off. Tiago starting wrapping cars for my clients and he wasn’t afraid to do things that had never been done, which set him apart from his competition. As his business grew, he would refer client’s looking for Lamborghini’s to me, and I would in turn refer my client’s to him. This symbiotic relationship grew and now we are both established and busier than we’d ever imagined.

Tiago is best known for the Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 that I sold to, Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5, and the crazy custom “Purracan” wrap that Tiago created for Joel. We’ve since done many other celebrity and non-celebrity projects and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.

The cool thing is….I helped Tiago in the beginning and he in return helped me. In my book, this is business 101. It’s all based on the relationships you have and continue to cultivate. He still picks up the phone anytime I call, and he’s happy to help when I need a rush wrap created for a special client.

Tiago’s business started from a personal need, it’s creative and definitely un-conventional, but he believed in himself and took a chance on his dream. Ultimately, He took a big risk and it paid off.
